And we hacked up a simple solution: The Call For Papers manager (qaCFP) … - IPC 2010 recap The International PHP Conference 2010, the 10th instance of this yearly PHP family meeting, ended yesterday. It was an amazing event again and we had many nice discussions. Beside that, all three Qafoo members presented talks on various topics, for which we now uploaded the slides to our talks page. If you attended any of them, please do not forget to give us some feedback via joind.in! - International PHP Conference 2010 We will present on various topics during the International PHP Conference 2010 and give different workshops during the following workshop days. Read more for a full list… - Practical PHPUnit: Testing XML generation Testing classes which generate XML can be a cumbersome work. At least, if you don't know the right tricks to make your life easier. In this article, I will throw some light upon different approaches and show you, how XML generation can be tested quite easily using XPath. - eZ Community Partner Since a few days the Qafoo GmbH is now eZ Community partner and provides support for the Apache Zeta Components. As such we just published a blog post on share.ez.no about the current state of the migration from eZ Components to Apache Zeta Components. - Service languages We recently added small flag icons to the top navigation bar, indicating that our services are available in multiple languages. Even though the website is still only available in English, we can provide all our services in English or German. - Why software quality matters It is not always obvious why software quality matters in any development project. Especially in the PHP area, where projects are often won by pitching with short development time and low cost, people don't see the benefits of quality assurance action for their projects. We have therefore made up a white paper explaining the benefits of software quality for your company and how quality assurance can influence important business goals of development projects. - Testing legacy code Today we know about the benefits of Test Driven Development and normally also start new projects using TDD. Most projects from the last couple of years integrated this method in their daily development process, which often results in in good code coverage results of 90% and above. But what about all the other old projects, you still manage in your daily work? - Presenting: PHP Commit Hooks For those of us using SVN there are some quite common pre- and post-commit hooks in a lot of company repositories, all using their own implementation: Lint checks, CodeSniffer checks, etc. We created a small framework for those commit hooks, which makes it easy to create own checks and custom reporters.
