Jakob Westhoff is a professional PHP, JavaScript and Web architect, who is about to finish his degree in computer science at TU Dortmund. During his time at university he has already worked as a freelancing software architect, author, trainer and consultant. Jakob has been enthusiastic about JavaScript since he first heard about it in its early days. Thus he has gained specialist knowledge about the language, corresponding concepts as well as frameworks like Dojo and jQuery. Jakob enjoys working thoroughly and understanding the inner working of things. Therefore he has also dealt with JavaScript engine internals and the ECMAScript specification in detail. Jakob is as fascinated by JavaScript as he is by PHP. He has acquired profound knowledge in this area as well, because application design and professional software development have been on his agenda for 11 years now. As a consequence Jakob has become a regular speaker at national and international conferences, published several articles and a book. Jakob Westhoff is a founder of the PHP-Usergroup Dortmund and an active member of the open source community. He is involved in several open source projects and maintains some on his own.

Kore Nordmann will graduate in 2010 with a degree in computer science (University). During his studies he worked as a developer and software architect for eZ Systems, the vendor of the leading open source Enterprise content management system. Beside that, he manages for several years different open source projects, in which he shares his experience with other developers. Acknowledged is his technical expertise in different areas of software architecture and design, which he has presented for years on national and international conferences and in several articles and books. Manuel Pichler

Manuel PichlerManuel Pichler

Manuel Pichler graduated in 2005 with a degree in computer science (university for applied science). Before 2010 he worked as a senior software architect at Germany's leading finance portal. In this position, he was the main responsible for technical development, evaluation of cutting edge technologies and technical conception. Furthermore, he gave internal trainings on quality assurance, software architecture and object-oriented software development. Manuel is an active member of the open source community since years, he also founded a series of open-source projects with a focus on quality assurance: phpUnderControl - which was first published in 2007, is an extension for the continuous integration server CruiseControl, focussing on PHP -, PHP_Depend and PHPMD, both tools for static code analysis.

Tobias Schlitt

Tobias SchlittTobias Schlitt

Tobias Schlitt develops web applications since 2000, mainly based on PHP. After his qualification as an IT specialist, he worked one year at the Deutsche Bank AG as a software architect, before he started his studies of computer science. Beside his studies, which Tobias is right about to finish in July 2010, he employed as a software architect and -designer, as well as an author and trainer for different companies. Most significantly, Tobias had actively part in the development of eZ Components, on behalf of eZ Systems AS.

Being active as an open source enthusiast since 2002, Tobias is involved in various projects around the PHP language. On this basis, he attended versatile professional conferences, giving various talks on quality related and other topics.
